Two young monks meditate in the search for greater Cosmic Union. However, in their quest, they become increasingly aware of the others' activities, jealously upping the stakes in order to be the "most enlightened".

The story turns on a small deception - since they were married, instead of the real thing, the wife has always made Chicory (a cheap substitute for Coffee) for her husband. He never catches on to the deception. For him, the slush tastes better than the best Coffee.
URS
For many years Urs has had to look after his aging mother. But now he sets out for a dangerous journey: He carries his mother up a mountain to find a better place for both of them. But she wants to stay at home.
